Members have different types of experience and training which include medically trained healthcare advocates, advocates in non-profits, individuals who have learned “on the job” helping a friend or family member, researchers and educators in the field of healthcare advocacy, and advocates working in the fields of public policy and legislation. Each group brings a unique contribution to this growing field. NAHAC embraces a multiplicity of approaches, recognizing that, in the end, the public will have a wide choice of services and advocates and this diversity of approaches enhances the profession |
