Veterans Need LTCI?

Our military receives earned retirement and healthcare benefits. Does a veteran need Long Term Care Insurance?

Depending upon retirement income, probably yes.  Residential  long term care for veterans is means tested. The retirement income in many cases will make the veteran ineligible for Veterans Admin paying the long term care at a Veterans home like Vinson Hall in metro DC area.

The core point is that if you are a military retiree, you are probably ineligible for long term care because of income limits.

Veterans Administration [veteran  enrolls in the VA system (meaning rated Category 1-7; but would be ineligible under Category 8 due to exceeding income limits. Thus a veteran may qualify for Cat 8 if the veteran was enrolled and  qualified as a veteran, but would be ineligible to receive VA care.]
