No Will-Priority of Executor Appointment

Individuals appointed by the court to administer an 
intestate estate are named administrators instead of executors. 

§64.1-118 of the Code of Virginia (1950, as amended) sets the order of priority for the probate clerk to assess who can be appointed executor first.Administration is granted to the distributees who apply. 

There is sometimes a race for them appointment. Depending on the time lapsed, since the date of death, there are different priorities regarding who may request appointment. Under §64.1-119 of Virginia Code, Administratorshave to be bonded.
